Authorities

Authorities

Overview

Authorities are used to configure user permissions and can be found in the option menu: Authorities.

Note:

Only advanced users should modify authorities, as incorrect settings can cause unintended behavior in the system including users not being able to login.

Creating / Modifying Authorities

  • To Create a new authority click the ‘+’ sign to the right of the Search field and the system will present an empty Authority template to fill in.
  • To modify an existing authority, search for the specific authority by entering the information in the top search window and click Search.

Duplicating Authorities

  • To duplicate an existing authority, highlight the authority to be duplicated and click on the Duplicate icon to the right of the search field. The duplicated authority will be named by the same name as the original followed by _copy.

Description Enter the description of this authority.

Authority Set Identifier From the list, select which authority set that this authority will be assign to.

The Authorities are broken down into 3 sections:

  • Domain Select the domain for which the permissions will be configured.
  • Entity Select which entities in the domain from which to assign or remove permissions.
  • Values Set the values for the selected entities.

When creating a new authority, you will need to click the Save button on the top right hand side of the screen.

If modifying an existing authority, the system saves automatically.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
